Cyprus is one of the smallest states in the European Union, an island in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, with a surface area of 9,251 km2 . It is situated in the middle of three continents, Europe, Asia and Africa.
The estimated population was 838.900 with an ethnic composition of 84% Greek Cypriots, 13% Turkish Cypriots, 3% foreign residents, and a few Maronites, Armenians, and Latins. These figures do not include Turkish settlers and military personnel, estimated at 85,000 and 40,000 respectively, who have moved into the Turkish-occupied areas since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974.
There are 6 cities in Cyprus: Nicosia-the capital of the island, Limassol, Larnaca, Larnaca, Paphos, Famagusta and Kyrenia. The highest mountain of Cyprus is Troodos. The four main products of Cyprus are citrus fruits, wine, halloumi and cheese. Cyprus is best known in Europe as a holiday destination.

Apesia produces a small quantity of cereals, olives and almonds. There are also a few vineyards on the north sides of the mountains that surround the village.
