Nuestra Señora De Los Dolores
The name of our school is Nuestra Señora De Los Dolores; the number of pupils is 322 and the number of teachers 28.
Ntra Sra de Los Dolores school is located in a suburb area with a lot of immigrants. . Our school is bilingual for 8 years; we had several projects such as: portfolio of languages, communicative competence, bedmur, etwinning, digital competence…
Pupils at our school start to learn foreign languages (English) when they are three years old, but it is in the first grade when children start to follow bilingual program based on the CLIL methodology (Content and Language Integrated Learning) which requires a greater degree of participation from pupils in the teaching-learning process likely to generate, not just the learning of the content, but the learning of the language through which to access that content.
We did also two Comenius projects: “ Europe in air”, “ Don’t worry be healthy” and an Erasmus + “<Learning foreign languages through ICT” ,where language of communication was English. While we took part in those projects, our students motivation improved and they started to be more implicated in the learning of foreign languages as they could communicate in English with students from different Europe countries, make projects and presentations, movies, podcasts, reading and writings texts, even some students could visit some countries and improve their language skills in real situations.

Spain has a very diverse climate throughout its territory. Mediterranean character predominates in almost all its geography. As you enter the interior, the climate is more extreme because it is the continental Mediterranean climate. The mountain climate can be observed at high altitudes. The subtropical character is characteristic of the Canary Islands, with warm temperatures throughout the year and little rainfall. It highlights the rich heritage that conserves Spain, both in archaeological sites, temples, palaces, fortresses, historic gardens, monumental urban complexes, heritage ethnographic or museums, among which are several of the most well-known and visited in the world, such as the Museo del Prado or the Museo Reina Sofía. Spain has been the birthplace of great authors in practically all artistic disciplines, being the Spanish contribution particularly relevant to field of painting, with geniuses of universal significance, such as Velázquez, Goya, Pablo Picasso or Salvador Dalí, and literature, which has given the essential names of Miguel de Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Calderón de la Barca, Quevedo, Galdós or Lorca, among many others.
