Vasile Parvan Secondary School
"Vasile Parvan" Secondary School is located in Birlad city, Vaslui County. "Vasile Parvan" Secondary school has a community of 550 students and 33 teachers. Many students come from families who encounter financial difficulties, parents being unemployed or who have gone to work in other EU countries, children who are in family placement. There is a large percentage of students coming from disadvantaged environments (families with a single legal tutor 6%, families who do not have any financial income 9%, Roma children 3%, students who remigrated 4%, students who are taken care by their grandparents 11%, 3 % of the students have serious health problems, and 2% of the students are with special educational needs. But despite these difficult conditions "Vasile Parvan" Secondary School has managed to achieve good results in school performance, the local community has appreciated the professionalism and involvement of the teachers in the educational activity. Our school is appreciated in the community for qualitative teaching activities as well as extracurricular activities or County Olympiads at different school subjects. The teachers and primary teachers (33 teachers and primary teachers) are constantly preoccupied to develop their specific skills, abilities, to learn new modern methods and procedures of teaching, monitoring their professional improvement permanently and increasing the quality of education.
At European level an Erasmus + KA1 project 2015, “Interculturalism and tolerance in the educational environment” was being implemented, a project in which 12 teachers were involved in specific activities, Comenius multilateral partnership “United in diversity” was conducted, two Comenius mobilities for life long training, 3 eTwinning- projects: Modern world in the eyes of children, Bridges connect, My school, My class, My country, partners Georgia, Armenia, Italy, Greece, Poland, Turkey and Serbia.
