11th Primary School of Chalandri
Our school is a public elementary school located in the north part of Athens. About 200 children between 6 and 12 years old are currently enrolled in our school. Its personnel consist of 30 teachers of various specialties. About a 5 years ago our school started implemented a pilot program with the teaching of new subjects such us, drama, ICT, art, traditional dances and second foreign language.
The teachers of our school have participated in many innovative programs relative to environmental education, emotional intelligence and inter-cultural communication. For the two last years we have been implementing an Erasmus+ KA2 project with title “Learning foreign Language through ICT. Many teachers of our school participated in that project and travelled abroad to meet other teachers of Europe.
The project “Our School, Our Playground” will help our school teachers to change their teaching methods and create stronger and better relationships inside the school community.
We believe that our students will also benefit a lot from their participation in this project. Since they will have the chance to meet people from other countries, improve their communication skills and enhance their European identity.
